Social Sector
The Social Sector plays a key part in the global economy today. In the United States alone more than 1.56 million nonprofits were registered with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) in 2015 according to NCCS and the number is rising. The social sector provides resources, services, and aid to communities in need around the globe accounting for 81 percent of nonprofit jobs in the health, education, and social assistance sectors.
We would like to believe that the public sector would not be able to survive without the support of the social sector as they both need each other for continued growth. Many organizations have come to the realization of the importance of the social sector thus forming their own non-profits to assist communities, towns, cities and even countries in need. Whether this non-profit is providing low-income communities with technology tools, water or the resources needed to rise above adversity.
As long as there are people in need and people who are able to provide for the need, the social sector will always be around.
